DAY 12... Kinda hoping this is gonna be a slow day - I slept late til maybe - oh...7:30 and took a shower in this marble and glass shower with the water coming out of a huge shower head hanging from the ceiling. Got a cup of coffee and brought the laptop out to the deck to write up some of yesterdays stuff. Everybody got up slowly and grabbed something to eat - dressed and by 10am we pulled out, without Kelsey - who chose to sleep longer - and headed to Exit Glacier just 5 miles up the road from Seward. A bit different than Matanuska in that it is receeding a half foot each day instead of gaining a foot. In fact you can see signs posted from various years past where the face of the glacier used to be. People we met there told us they were here 20 years ago and saw a vastly different glacier.

Pictures, up to #13, show the Glacier - which was a lot bluer than the other glaciers we've seen, I think because the sun was full on it's face this morning. Starting with Pic #14, you see the Alaska Sea Life Center - funded in whole by monies taken from the Exxon Valdez cleanup and punitative damages fund. They have great underwater viewing windows for the sea birds, Harbor Seal, Sea Lion and several other fishes of this area...

...while the girls shopped in the gift store, I walked across the street to the Yukon Bar and had an Oatmeal Stout on draft while taking in the loads of bar paraphenalia, including - once again - a ceiling full of signed dollar bills...#27 is my addition to the collection.

Back at the cabin - we do a steak dinner on the back porch, with baked potatos, garlic stuffed mushrooms and corn-on-the-cob and enjoy our last night in Seward and this wonderful cabin. After dinner we take a short ride out to the point at the extreme south end of Seward, hang out at the boat docks and watch the fish catch come in and alternate between swinging on the swing looking at the mountain behind the cabin - or lounging in the tub overlooking Resurrection Bay...if you ever come up this way - plan your dates around when this place is available! Tomorrow - we're back at Cooper Landing trying our hand at Salmon Fishing...
