Yeah man, I remember you… hated leaving you behind in Lusk but we had people waiting for us on the ranch with the BBQ … I can’t remember if we got in touch with you after that – seems I remember sending an email back to ya at some point.
Anyway – we’re gonna be riding through Illinois at a fast clip – putting some miles behind us on the Interstates – so we’ll be on I-74 from Indianapolis to Rock Island, IL where we’re staying at the Rock Island KOA for the night – though likely beat up from near 700 miles of interstate for that day – still – a campfire and a couple buds would prove interesting…
If you camp – cause I think we have all the available Kabins – you could always hook up with us as we blow through someplace in the Interstate and join us for the evening at the KOA… problem is with that many miles, I have no clue when we’ll be where on the ride, with little desire to stop and dally on the way – this is one of those close-yer-eyes-days and just make tracks.
I have our route plugged into a mapping program, and it shows we’ll be passing Indianapolis 12:30 / 12:45 or so, and Champagne around 2:30ish, and Bloomington around 3pm… all these take into account an average 70-72 mph and rest stops every 2 hours for 20 minutes…so frankly I think we’ll be ahead of this schedule… but it’s what I’m working from as worst case. And yeah – we’ll be blowing through in a rush… keep in touch and see…. You planning to crash at the Rock Island KOA? I’m thinking, if we get there in time, to go into Davenport that evening and have a few beers at the Rock Island Brewing Company downtown…short night though…long day behind us and a 350 mile backroads ahead of us…
Lemme know if you can make it… - hey what suburb? I dunno if we talked about it, but I used to live in Highland Park…as a kid.
