FREQUENTLY
ASKED
QUESTIONS...

Q. Gimme the Readers Digest version on how this works?

A. Its simple... you go to the Future Trips Page, and click on which adventure you want to follow. You can read a short write-up on the trip and, if the trip is still in the future, you can often go into the trip pages themselves to see any preliminary planning, maps and an itinerary.

If the trip has been completed, check our Archives Page for it and many more trips dqating back to 1999.

Q. Have you really quit riding?
A. Yup, nope, maybe... After a year of not riding much at all, I've given up on the folly of retiring, and have resumed the website, but now with more adventures other than just Harley riding. You'll find trips with the family, hiking and camping trips, and vacations as well as some publications I've written.
Q. Hey...What's in it for YOU, Muthuh?
A. I used to charge viewers for the chance to follow along on the trip, but I figure I'd get more viewers if they were free. I no longer sell advertising on the site, but sometimes get some freebies from people who I mention in the journals, like vendors, accommodations and restaurants.

I do place some PAYPAL buttons on various pages of the site looking for donations from readers to help with the costs of keeping the site running. My stories and my novel are free reading, but if you feel like helping out, I'd appreciate it.

Even if you have no PAYPAL account, donations are fast and easy. I never even see your credit card information.

Q. I notice you don't stay at the rallies very long, and get there early in the week. Whats up with that?
A. Like the sign says, It's not the destination, fool...its the ride! I've never been one to get in the middle of a pack and do what everyone else is doing. I like to get to the rallies while there are still some 2X T-shirts for sale. Ever try to get a big T-shirt at the tail end of a rally? Hell, the ones that are left are pink and green anyway. I prefer to do my riding in the hills and backroads, off the beaten path, the road less travelled, yadi, yadi yadi.... Look... Once you've been to the rally, got your pin and T-shirt, meet up with a couple of Bro's and slammed down a few Buds... whats with this idling in traffic on Main Street stuff, huh? For me, I plan a night or two at the rally site and then get the heck outta town before the crowd gets too thick.
Q. Why don't you upload these journals daily anymore while on trips?
A. I used to - It'd take up to an hour and a half at the motel each night. Depends on how many pictures I have to upload to the computer and how much there is to say. I found that it just took too much time out of an enjoyable evening - and I was supposed to be having fun! So now I try to write the journal and offload the pics everynight, but am no longer concerned about updating the site every night on the road. Where possible, I will upload something, but in general, I will put in the details when I get back. I was simply shortchanging the trip in order to just get something up there each night. I think the vast majority of readers see a trip after it is over anyway!
Q. What kind of biker dude are you riding a dresser?
A. Somewhere out there on the main website I answered that one already...my wife makes me. Look, After loading up all my crap, straddling my fat ass on the bike and most of the time putting my wife's .... uhhhhh.... tiny butt on the bike, we got whats called a FULL LOAD! The Ultra is not your typical bar-to-bar bike, I'll agree, but I don't ride worrying about what YOU think. Its a comfortable long-haul riding bike and my wife don't bitch at me to stop every 20 miles for a break. And like I said, on those street bikes, you may think you look cool, but on a long ride, your ass thinks your an idiot.
Q. You should ride a (insert a foreign brand bike here)!
A. Yeah, right. Next Question.
Q. Can I join you on one of your rides?
A. I have a section on the site called TOURS that talks about this. I really try to keep the Muthuh's Rides rides to a minimum number of people. Most important is compatability of riding styles. I am a solo rider by choice and prefer to come and go as I please, but showing others the neat places I've been to is a kick, too, so I often invite a few along. When I do go on a ride, I like to keep the group to less than 6 and I already have 5 good riding buddies, but if you're interested, gimme a ring and we'll see what we can do.
