Day 5 - Sun 10/06 - VA, NC
By 10am, I was following Kim down the road heading home. Once again wearing my new Panoptx eyewear to keep the cold air off my eyes. I found them to be really comfortable and comforting on the Interstates and major highways. I did take them off on the slow back roads in favor of my small glasses, but once I got up to any speed, they were wonderful. I'll add the pictures here soon. Once on the highway I was listening to "The Hobbit - The Two Towers" on Books on Tape from Cracker Barrell. Kim got this one for her ride up here. I wanted to hear the book again before going to see the movie this December when it comes out. It's remarkable how it helps make the highway roll by faster. I intended to take a scenic route home, but Kim mentioned some work that was piling up back home, and I was tired. Highway 29 took us nearly home, and I don't recall a bit of it. Hope you enjoyed the ride. It was a ton of fun to see the old home and friends I haven't seen in 38 years. I found some nice side roads that have gone in the book as possible future rides if I ever take a group back up this way. I'm finding that West Virginia has some of the nicest roads for riding if you just like to tour the back roads... I'll be back up this way again, I'm sure. Till next time - Muthuh
